Another New Factory for Torrington?

A London bookbinding firm, W J Rawlinson Ltd, has put in plans to build a factory on a site at Calvesford, Torrington, but no definite decision to go ahead with the project has yet been made.

Torrington Factory 16.10.1970

If the firm decides to go ahead with it, it is understood part of the production will continue in London.
At Torrington Town Council meeting it was stated that planning approval for the new factory had been given subject to three conditions, one of them being the provision of sufficient car parking space for employees.
The Calvesford Road site was provided by the Council specially for industrial development, and main services and access roads were laid in preparation.
